‘THE WALKING DEAD’ 0908 with Tameche and Tracey

A new threat is “unveiled” in The Walking Dead season 9 mid-season finale ‘Evolution’.

The Walking Dead mid-season finale brings old friends face to face. So why are they not so friendly anymore? It looks like we will have to keep waiting to find that out. Meanwhile, Henry tries to make a home away from home at Hilltop only to land himself behind bars. Magna’s group of survivors begins checking out the Hilltop but only once they have turned over their weapons.

Daryl, Dog, Jesus and Aaron rescue Eugene but end up being hunted by an unusual group of walkers. In a most eerie turn of events, we learn that the strange walker behavior actually belongs to some downright scary humans wearing actual walker faces as masks. Sadly, Jesus falls victim to one of these humans now known as The Whisperers.

‘THE WALKING DEAD’ 907 with Tameche and Tracey

The Walking Dead reunites some Alexandrians with Hilltop residents this week. The reunion is short-lived, however, as Eugene is in need of rescue. A search party heads out and we wait for the season 9 mid-season finale.

Tameche and Tracey pair up again this week to talk The Walking Dead. There’s a dog named “Dog”, a haircut, and a violin that falls victim to Michonne’s katana. Characters old and new join forces against the walkers (or sickos). Connie detects a mysterious presence in the woods. We learn that Tara is managing more at the Hilltop than elected leader Jesus. Rosita is rescued but Eugene remains at large among the whispering walkers.

There is a lot to digest. Let’s just hope it’s not walkers eating our favorite characters!

Find out what we liked and disliked this week and see if you agree. Tune in for our predictions and find out what questions linger most in our minds.

‘THE WALKING DEAD’ 906 with Tameche and Tracey

Memories of the past inform new developments in Alexandria in The Walking Dead episode 906.

Much time has passed on The Walking Dead, six years we are told. Some characters look different and there are some new characters all together. While there is definitely a theme of change, some things remain the same.

Tameche and Tracey break down the episode this week using a yearbook format. You may recall flipping through yearbooks to see what people looked like at that point in time. You can find also out what activities they were enjoying. We take that same approach this week asking what each character looks like and what are they up to.

We can certainly review a snapshot of the current status of our characters. But with so much time having passed, there are several mysteries about what has transpired in the last six years. We are definitely left wondering what happened to make Michonne so adamant about not welcoming new residents.

There is most definitely a void without Rick Grimes. His “presence” is felt throughout the episode, however, as we see Michonne still “talking” to him and giving Judith a figurine in his likeness. Even Judith herself talks about her dad and tells her mom, Michonne, that she thinks her dad would agree with her bringing in the strangers.

So, please check out what we have to say about our 20 plus group of current characters including those we did not see tonight. Tell us who we missed! We know we missed a discussion on Jesus, but it would have been a brief one as he was not seen in this episode.

Click on the link below for the full podcast audio or subscribe on iTunes or Google. We welcome your feedback about the show and would always appreciate your honest review. Definitely let us know what you think of Tracey’s “kids in pajamas” age theory!

A smorgasbord of talk!

I hope you will continue following me here as “Talk Colony” expands to a broader scope as “The Talk Colony”!

Even though Colony USA was cancelled, I still wanted to keep the page, website, and podcast feed going for:
— fans who have not yet discovered Colony
— existing fans who have bonded over the show
— and a place to share other podcasts I host in collaboration with So Many Shows
There may even be some non-TV (gasp!) podcasting to share down the road – thanks for tagging along for this “smorgasbord of talk”!

Talk Colony Podcast #48: S3 finale discussion with director Tim Southam

Talk Colony Podcast revisits the Colony season 3 finale with director Tim Southam.

We welcomed the opportunity to speak with director Tim Southam about the Colony finale. Tim confirms that the episode was produced as a season finale with hopes of a season 4. The news of Colony‘s cancellation came well after episode 3.13 was finalized.

Tim provides fascinating details about directing this episode among many others since season 1. He has so many wonderful things to share about the cast and crew. Tim speaks so fondly of the fans and their dedication to Colony.

After our “therapeutic” chat with Tim, we visit our usual segments one last time:

Talk Colony Podcast #47: Discuss episode 3.12 ‘Bonzo’

We are talking Colony episode 3.12 titled ‘Bonzo’. Jay is back to help Tracey break down an action packed installment of the series.

We talk about Kynes communicating with one of the hosts’ enemy aliens whom Kynes refers to as “her”. It is a mysterious encounter that leaves Kynes a little winded with a message scribbled on his arm.

Jay and Tracey talk about Katie being sidelined from the Resistance action while Amy gets called up for her medical skill set. Jay breaks down the rescue mission to get Kynes out of the Bonzo black site. There are close calls, casualties, and a very narrow escape for an injured Everett Kynes.

The episode leaves us with the Bowman family separated. Will is operating dangerously solo. Katie is alone at home, but she does not even know it. Bram and Gracie take refuge at Meadow’s house.

The co-hosts explore the possible motivations of both Snyder and Kynes. We also marvel at the technology revealed in the cold open. Who does it actually belong to? And, of course, we continue to wonder if something more ominous than dinner is on the menu at Meadow’s house.

Actor Sergio Osuna as Glen on Colony Photo credit: USA Network

Talk Colony Podcast #45: Discuss 3.10 and Buzz with Sergio Osuna

Talk Colony Podcast breaks down the latest episode of Colony called ‘Sea Spray’ and interviews Sergio Osuna who plays Everett Kynes’ assistant.

Tracey and Jay review the story lines from the episode and take a look at the character interactions this week. We have a lot to talk about with new information on the number of outliers living “under the radar” and outside the stasis chambers in Seattle.

Amy steps aside while Katie joins forces with Will and Broussard to track down the list of outliers living in Seattle. Snyder pairs with Garland from the IGA to uncover more about Kynes’ agenda for Seattle. There is a lot of sniffing around from all angles this week!

We share our thoughts on:

  • Who “owned” the episode?
  • Biggest Reveal
  • Favorite lines
  • Josh Holloway hair flip ratings

Buzz From The Bloc

We also have the pleasure of speaking with Sergio Osuna who plays Glen on Colony. We find out more about Glen’s job as Kynes’ faithful assistant.

You may recognize Sergio from his role of Rafe on The Magicians. He has also been busy working on a short film called Empty.

We really appreciate Sergio giving us some great “Buzz From The Bloc” and cannot wait to see more from his character this season on Colony.

Talk Colony Podcast #44: Discuss episode 3.09 ‘The Big Empty’

Talk Colony Podcast breaks down Colony episode 3.09 and the intense emotional exchanges between the characters.

Sarah Wayne Callies does a fantastic job both in front of and behind the camera in this week’s episode. As a first time director, she captures powerful moments on screen, some with words and some without. As Jay said, the episode is “riveting”.

Tracey and Jay discuss major plot points. Will’s scowl, and the usual segments:

Talk Colony Podcast #43: Discuss episode 3.08 ‘Lazarus’

Talk Colony Podcast breaks down Colony episode 3.08 this week. Questions and reveals abound as we take an even closer look at the Seattle colony.

Tracey and Jay have a lot of thoughts on Snyder’s visit to the Seattle colony. We have a few questions as well. We speculate on Snyder’s full agenda behind his meeting with the eccentric Everett Kynes.

The co-hosts also talk about a visit Katie backs via Bus D. She is unnerved about the revelation of the bus being re-routed to Portland and the presence of a Transitional Authority bus.

Will teams up with Broussard and Amy for a mission, at least for a little while. Will switches targets, however, when he finds Snyder inside the Seattle colony.

Bram makes a career change and Bramy (Broussard and Amy, I mean, why not?) discover a curious material inside the mystery briefcase.

We learned some great Buzz From The Bloc from Nicki Micheaux who plays new character Michelle on Colony.

Tune in for all the insights Nicki has to share about working on Colony and playing the mysterious Michelle at the Seattle Refugee Management Agency.

Nicki talks about the pleasure of working with Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies. We find out Nicki is a fan of Lost and The Walking Dead.

While Nicki cannot talk about her character’s future on Colony, we can look forward to a brand new episode on Wednesday at 9/8 central on USA Network. Maybe we will learn more about Michelle!

Talk Colony Podcast #41: Discuss episode 3.07 ‘A Clean, Well-Lighted Place”

Talk Colony Podcast drops some theories about the latest episode of Colony. What’s the real story behind Seattle?

Tune in for our discussion of Colony episode 3.07. The Bowmans, or should I say Daltons, are settled into a new home in Seattle. And “settling” seems to be exactly what Katie (Laura) is doing. Will (James) still has some fight in him, but will Katie come around again?

Everett Kynes had a “model Colony” in mind for Seattle. Things sure like good from a distance, but when you get up close and personal, things seem fishy at best. Everyone is not accounted for.

Tracey and Jay break down the episode and cover their signature segments:

  • Who “owned” the episode?

Talk Colony Podcast #40: Interview with Isabella Crovetti about season 3

Talk Colony Podcast listeners are in for a special treat! We had the pleasure of speaking with Isabella Crovetti who plays Gracie Bowman on Colony.

I am joined by super fan and Talk Colony Fan Award winner, Melissa. We posed several questions to Isabella about her experiences so far on season 3.

We covered insider topics such as:

  • Playing that intense interrogation scene with character Andrew MacGregor played by Graham McTavish
  • Learning about her on-screen brother’s death
  • Working with the stunt team, wearing a prosthetic wound, and more!

We are so grateful to Isabella for spending time with us and we cannot wait to see where her character goes in the rest of Colony season 3. Keep up the great work, Isabella!

Talk Colony Podcast #39: Discuss 3.06 ‘The Emerald City’

Colony episode 3.06 follows two very different stories in the aftermath of Charlie Bowman’s death.

Snyder finds refuge in Switzerland while the Bowmans struggle to survive on the road to Seattle. We cannot be certain if Seattle brings danger or salvation.

Spoiler alert, Tracey and Jay both really liked this episode. Of course, we did not like everything that was happening, but we both thought it was very well executed. If you agree, you can thank Sarah Boyd for her excellent direction of this week’s installment of Colony.

You will still have to tune in to find out how we voted for:

  • Who “owned” the episode

Talk Colony Podcast discusses Colony episode 3.05 ‘End of the Road’. Plus, we have a special host filling in for Jay.

Colony episode 3.05 provides some masterful storytelling and a big dose of heartache. We lose Charlie Bowman this week. Fans are still reeling from the loss of our beloved and heroic young Charlie.

Alan Snyder plays an extremely pivotal role this week and we discuss his actions in great detail. Even without Jay hosting tonight, we manage to include a lot of Snyder content!

Talk Colony Podcast #37: Discuss Colony episode 3.04 ‘Hospitium’

Talk Colony Podcast discusses Colony episode 3.04 ‘Hospitium’. Plus, Jay is back to talk about Snyder and more Snyder.

Colony episode 3.04 again takes along the continued journey of Amy and Broussard as well as keeping us current on the Bowmans’ activities at the Resistance camp. We also learn some background on camp leader Andrew MacGregor. We debate whether his backstory lends creedence to his views or makes him sound even less informed.

Tracey and Jay cover the major plot points and get pretty tickled recalling Snyder’s escape from the camp.

Talk Colony Podcast #36: Discuss Colony S3E3 ‘Sierra Maestra’

Talk Colony Podcast discusses Colony episode 3.03 ‘Sierra Maestra” and gives the Click a name.

We have a guest host this week. Mike Caputo from Pop Culture Review and So Many Shows joins Tracey to dissect Colony episode 3.03.

Episode 3.03 follows the stories of the Bowmans and Uncle Alan settling in at “Resistance Camp” as well as Broussard and Amy’s journey north.

Tracey and Mike talk about the game changers in the episode as well as new mysteries that are unveiled. We walk through the episode in recap fashion and then hit our usual segments.

  • Who “owned” the episode?
  • Biggest Reveal
  • Josh Holloway hair flip ratings

We add a new segment this week – “Best Line” of the episode. Surely, Snyder’s name comes up in this category!

Also, Mike is not a big fan calling the RAP a Click, so he decides to call it “Skippy” instead. It has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? Or, maybe I should say a nice high frequency shriek!

Talk Colony Podcast #35: Discuss S3E2 with Buzz from the Bloc from Tory Kittles

Talk Colony Podcast dissects Colony episode 3.02 and gets some “Buzz from the Bloc” from Tory Kittles who plays Broussard.

It’s time to talk about season 3 episode 2 of Colony on the Talk Colony Podcast. Eric Broussard is literally trying to put the pieces back together after the Rendition of the Los Angeles Bloc. He makes some new friends along the way and uncovers some disturbing information.

Helena learns that the Factory is no more and Snyder plays uncle to the Bowman kids. The Bowmans take a cereal train ride to the Resistance camp.

Tracey and Jay comment on the storylines and raise some interesting questions. The co-hosts also tackle the usual podcast segments:

  • Who “owned” the episode?
  • Biggest Reveal
  • Josh Holloway hair flip ratings

And, finally, we get the “buzz” that Jay has been waiting for – great scoop straight from our hero, actor Tory Kittles.

Talk Colony Podcast #34: Discuss S3E1 ‘Maquis’

Tracey and Jay are back for the Talk Colony Podcast. Colony season 3 is off to an adventurous start!

Colony season 3 brings a new backdrop for the Bowman family. They have also gained new member of the household. Alan Snyder has remained with the Bowmans for six months now after helping them escape the Los Angeles Bloc at the end of season 2.

Tracey and Jay get right down to the business of evaluating the new living situation for the Bowman family. Both agree that life in the woods looks good on the Bowmans, but maybe not so much for Snyder.

The co-hosts compare their take on the “call” Snyder makes in the premiere episode of season 3. Is it a betrayal or an act of heroism? Or somewhere in between?

They also take a look at Bram’s solo decision to make contact with (hopefully) a Resistance member via radio.

The usual segments are covered:

  • Who “owned” the episode?
  • Biggest Reveal
  • Josh Holloway hair flip ratings

We learn that there is some great Buzz from the Bloc in store for the next episode of the podcast. Get ready!

‘Colony’ Facebook Live with Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies

The Colony Facebook page will be hosting a Facebook live event on season 3 premiere day, May 2nd.

Join Sarah Wayne Callies and Josh Holloway for the live event at 9pm ET/6 pm PT. Sarah shared the announcement on her Facebook page with the hashtag #stayhuman. Those pesky RAPs (random alien people) always seem to be nipping at their heels!

What are your other plans for Colony season 3 premiere night? Let us know if you are planning a viewing party or special snacks for the big day. Maybe we should roast some marshmallows since it looks like the Bowmans are in the woods at the beginning of season 3!

For those in proximity to Los Angeles, hope you scored a seat at the Colony premiere viewing party at Legendary Television in Burbank. The invitation notes that RSVPs are now closed. We will be watching for photos!

It’s almost here! Colonists unite for an exciting start to season 3. And don’t miss the Facebook live with Sarah and Josh!

‘Colony’ challenges us to help Bram

Colony has thrown down the gauntlet (see what I did there?). That’s right, challenges are in store for fans of Colony.

Check out this tweet from USA Network’s Colony account:

We need to keep our eyes peeled and ears open for challenges from Colony’s social media accounts on April 10th. Twitter has alerted all Colonists to assist Bram with “The Lost Transmissions”. (And believe me, it does not escape me that the word “Lost” is a part of this challenge coming from a show co-created by Carlton Cuse!)

The announcement is reminiscent of the games and tasks issued by Colony in season one. Who remembers Proxy Snyder’s broadcasts and building your dossier file?

Make sure you are following Colony on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter so you do not miss a single directive from the team.

Collaborators, Resistance, and everyone in between – join in for the fun!

Colony season 3 – Let’s do this!

It is almost time for Colony to return to USA Network for season 3.

Yes, it was tough waiting for a premiere date, especially after we had become accustomed to the season beginning in January. But it’s coming on May 2nd!

The footage from the trailer has me very intrigued about seeing the story play out, at least in part, outside the confines of a city. The Bowmans are in the woods! And if you watch closely, you will see Snyder with them donning his best lumberjack gear.

Will’s hair is shorter. Oh my gosh, how will we cope without the hair flips?  I’m just hoping he still needs to toss his bangs out of his eyes now and then. Snyder’s hair is a tad longer though and he’s sporting a beard.

Is it hard to see Snyder without the sleek suit and perfectly groomed hair? I kind of wonder if he keeps a table set up inside a tent with a chalice and full place setting even though they are “roughing it”! You can take the Snyder out of the city, but can you take the city out of Snyder? I have a feeling we will get some great “fish out of water” moments.

I would encourage you to take time to check out the videos of the Colony set visits that Amy Vorpahl makes on behalf of Nerdist.com. Hysterical! It doesn’t matter if you are #TeamSnyder or #TeamBroussard. Each have their moments to shine. (Okay, maybe Tory has an edge on Peter in the videos, wink wink!)

Here is Part 1. You can find more on the Nerdist website.

I never tire of the smack talk between Tory Kittles and Peter Jacobson. In fact, I’d like to think I have facilitated (or is it instigated?) that banter historically!

Speaking of #TeamSnyder and #TeamBroussard, be sure to check out Wendy’s shirt designs at ColonyIvasion.com. You’ll never guess which one I chose! Okay, maybe you will. With all my fan love for Broussard, the show would never be complete without Snyder. I need my Snyder too!

And how about Wayne Brady joining the cast? Check out Melissa’s article on So Many Shows for highlights from Wayne and more.

Sarah Wayne Callies makes her directorial debut this season. And it looks like her character gets an up close look at a fallen alien aircraft.

Get ready for more Talk Colony Podcast! Jay and I will be back to break down each episode and bring you lots of fun coverage for Colony! Be sure to let us know what you are most excited about for the new season!

And, remember RAPs are (random alien) people, too! I look forward to enjoying the new season with you all!
